Ministry of Textiles and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly organized the "enhanced protection the textile in government - Industrial - Consumer Relations" seminar. Senior officials from the central and state governments will speak at the seminar. The workshop was attended by representatives from more than 100 national defense, police, security, regulatory agencies, national governments, hotels, reuse and all walks of life.
Protective textiles is a rapidly growing industry in India over the next five years is expected to grow at an annual rate of 9-10%. Protective textiles domestic market from 1259 crore in 2007-08 to 2,000 crore in 2012-12. Protect textiles including textiles and clothing, the materials used in these textiles and clothing to wear and users from harmful chemicals, extreme (high and low temperatures) Winton damage, while providing bulletproof protection. fire fighter suit, jackets, bullet-proof vests, aluminized suits,high visibility clothing, and so on, these belong to the protection type textile product.
The purpose of this workshop is to consumers, suppliers, and the field of public safety regulatory agencies together to understand each other's needs and concerns. In India, the use of these protective textiles is very limited and far below the potential of the Indian market, mainly due to a lack of understanding of many consumer groups. The same time, unlike in developed countries, the Indian public field / construction textiles no mandatory standard, therefore, most of the public places still did not use flame-retardant textiles, therefore, the public face of the very high risk. Although India has developed a number of rules and regulations (especially retardant), but the amount of protective textiles is still not enough. Therefore, there is an urgent need to promote the development of the industry, to encourage the use of protective textiles.
The seminar will also focus on various rules / needs to be amended in order to promote the legislation around the use of protective textile.
